Location: At an elevation just under 6000', Yosemite West
is located inside Yosemite National Park - less than 5 minutes
to Glacier Point Rd., 15 minutes to Badger Pass, and about 20
to 25 minutes to either Yosemite Valley or Wawona and the Giant
Sequoias at the Mariposa Grove. For driving information click here.

The Sunset House : on the Top Level - 2 bedrooms/1 bath (sleeps
3 to 5). Max. occupancy: 6 guests.Beds: 2 queen, 1 single, 1 full size futon in the living room.
The Red Door Apartment : on the Mid-Level - 1 bedroom/1 bath (sleeps
1 to 3). Max. occupancy: 4 guests. Beds: queen size bed and full size futon in living room.
Both units together : a total of 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, on two levels (sleeps
8 guests). Beds: 3 queen, 1 twin, 2 full size futons.
Decks : both levels have their own
spacious decks with deck furniture; enjoy beautiful western views of the Sierra National
Forest
Parking: Sunset House = 2 cars and Red Door = 1 car
All linen provided.
Kitchens: both kitchens are equipped w/ pots and pans, dishes
and basic spices (salt & pepper, oil & vinegar, BBQ spices),
Microwave, Coffee Maker, Coffee Grinder, 2 Gas Grills BBQs, ground coffee, hot chocolate and tea.
Bathrooms have bar soap, liquid hand soap, shower caps, freshly laundered towels (bring your favorite shampoo), hair dryer.
TV: basic 2-3 channels, no cable, bring your DVDs
Sound system in living room, ipod/iphone docking station.
Local Phone calls (for Long Distance: bring your
calling card).
Although there is a wood-burning
fireplace in the Sunset House, wood fires are not permited any
time of the year except when there is fresh snow on the ground.
The Red Door Apartment has a free
standing gas fireplace - it can be enjoyed year around.
Leave home your pets ... sorry,
but this is a natural environment, the park has strict restrictions and pets are difficult to accomodate in this house!
Nature and Wildlife: from the decks you could observe
any of the following :
Birds : Steller's jays, quail, dark-eyed
junco, mountain chickadees, woodpeckers, pileated woodpecker (quite rare
!!! ), and much more
Mammals : chipmunks and squirrels,deer, coyotes, and if you are lucky
... you could enjoy a black bear sighting !!!!!!

NO-NOs: SORRY:
NO SMOKING, NO PETS, NO WEDDING PARTY, NO EXTRA GUESTS, and NO PARTY
ANIMALS!
The Yosemite Sunset House is a smoke-free
environment ... including, please, no "party animals"
(not a "party house"). For fire and safety reasons, smoking is not
allowed anywhere on the property. No candle or incense burning
and no wood fires.
